Shoe

This was my final piece after studying Japan and Japanese street fashion. After looking through styles in books/magazines such as FRUiTS, the work of Cathy De Monchaux, Vivienne Westwood (and the idea of the stiletto in general) I created this from second hand shoe innards (innersoles, cut to size etc), dress pins, ribbon, lace (some bits such as the strap are laminated) and sharp pieces of broken mirror as a mozaic on the sole, and scissor stilettos. I was trying to symbolise aspects of the culture i'd found interesting in research, such as sex, fetish, femininity, DIY/clothing customisation, glamour and vanity. Not wearable, it is a sculpture.
